In honour of the other great diary thread, and to help MickM666 get over his Blackpool angst, I thought i would share my trip to Blackpool with you.
So, 5 bells, finishes work and drive my van home. Get home at about 5:30 and straight up the khazi for a good ol'sho1te. Load dumped, quick wash and change of clothes, kids ready, Mrs ready, and into the car we go.
Weather was a bit miserable, but we decided to be brave and head on our way. No problems with traffic on the motorways so made it in just under an hour.
Starving hungry, we dive into a fish and chip emporium and order.......you guessed it, fish and chips mushy peas and some curry for moi. The kids had nuggets and sausage with their chips. The fish was coated in a delightfully fluffy, crunchy batter which only enhanced the succulent white meat of the haddock. Clean plates all round.
After grub we head into the fair so the kids can have some fun. An hour and 50 quid later we head off to walk along the promenade to see the much anticipated illuminations. Many oooohs and aaaahs from the girls, delighted by the shiny, sparkly twinkling displays. Stop halfway for a ride on the Ferris wheel on Central Pier, it was quite windy at this point, so I asked the lady managing the ride if we would be ok, "will we live" I asked, "you'll live" came her reply.
After that it was onwards with our walk. In what seemed like no time at all we had reached the end of the fantastic lights so decided to walk back along the other way. More oooohs and arrrrrs from the kids convinced me that it had been a great idea to go.
Lights done (twice) and pockets emptied, we head back to the car to head home. Arriving at the car park we were greeted by the sight of a young buck, taters deep in a 50 something munter of the general Blackpool variety, she was huge, defo must have her own postcode, and this young lad was riding it like a derby winning jockey. Steering the kids in the opposite direction, we arrived back at the csr just before 11pm. Kids safely tucked into their seats, we headed home. Both girls were fast asleep within ten minutes and slept all the way home.
I hope you lads n lasses enjoyed my tale. Planning on going again before Christmas, so will update then.
cheers
