Sounds very much like a solo artist Lennon song, and not something the Beatles would have recorded when they were together!

He (Lennon) wrote it in the late 70's.

I'm torn between wanting to hear everything they ever wrote and leaving it to what they decided was best at the time.

A average Lennon song, elevated by a nice string arrangement. But agree with Davek that adds nothing to the legacy.

Don’t forget, they abandoned working on this one in the mid 90s cos George thought “it was ‘kin rubbish”.

Love the Beatles, but totally agree on first listening - not hard to see why it was binned off during the anthology sessions in 1995 in favour of Free as a bird and Real love.
Reminds me of that weird half finished song 'Face it alone' Queen put out last year.

Call me cynical ,but its just a pure money making exercise - released to coincide with the reissues of the classic 1962-66 and 1967-70 red and blue albums on triple vinyl for the first time.
