Harrogate isn't too far away from you. That's a great night out for anyone over thirty.

Make a weekend of it, get a hotel / B and B.

You won't see many out under thirty, as they're so strict on the doors.
Harrogate is a corker of a night out, agreed! We went across to Alnmouth/Alnwick the other day for a stroll and that's God's country up there. Love my part of the country. Very proud to be a Northumbrian. I'd include the ancient boundaries in that! Anything from the Humber to the Tweed...

It's where the name comes from North of Humber...Northumbrian.

Jesmond is a good night out too, if you get off the main drag on Osbourne Road - full of fat Geordie mutants.

There's some cracking pubs, bars and bistros at the back of Osbourne Rd, which the mutants don't go to, as they stand out as being obvious mutants !.

Helmsley in N.Yorks is a good place too.

I take it you left before the last day?

Lol - no we left early Sunday morning. The car park was navigable at that point (just about). I heard that it went downhill fast soon after. It was wild, wet and muddy. But only to be expected if you have a festival in Snowdonia! I hope you didn't get trapped in the car-park quagmire?

Ha no I didn't go but I now work for a company who were involved with it last year, so have heard all about it!

The best Festival ever.

Closely followed by 1992's effort.

As well as AFL opening the event this year on the Thursday night, there are over 40 local and national bands, solo acts and duos performing at the blues festival on Friday night and Saturday. In recent years AFL has played with the likes of Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Derek Trucks and other top level performers at major blues events, so it is something of a coup to have him headlining the Festival. My band has two slots on the Saturday. Music in the pubs runs from mid-day to midnight on the Saturday, all free. If you are out that way, it's well worth a visit.

I'd love to to a festival. It's on my bucket list. My son is going to Download- Aerosmith are headlining Sunday. I may have to go along. Not sure he'll be too impressed with that though. lollollol
