Just read that - they actually don't! They think we have some sort of entitlement complex and hate him for holding us back from league titles, or that we're just bad football fans etc.
They haven't got a clue - it's plain and simple; the man was contemptuous of the club after he left, increasingly disdainful of the fans during his latter years in charge, overwhelmingly arrogant, tactically inept, held back youth progress during his entire reign, stuck with his favourites no matter what form, age or ability said about them, was massively hypocritical in his actions during and after he left in regards to transfers, knew about the United job months in advance but played the club for muppets by blatantly lying about his contract situation and, most of all, played perpetually negative football and bottled the big occasions.
He got the send off he deserved after the final game of the season because, on balance, he saved the club in his first five years in charge from obliteration. From around 2008/09 onwards, he was a self-serving beaut whose only interest was in preserving the hyping up of his own ability in the media, even if that meant furthering the belief of "plucky little Everton punching above their weight" - knife to a gunfight etc.
Any United fans reading, get it into your skull - the guy deserved everything he got yesterday. We don't expect to be challenging for titles, we're not idiots, we understand the constraints at the club. What we do expect is to be treated with respect by the man in charge and not used to further personal ambitions at the expense of the good of the club.
