MPs expenses scandal

i think more than 100 MPs were involved, im sure less than a quarter will face any penalties whatsoever. corrupt, incompetant and greedy, every one of them should be thrown out of parliment at least.

Many of them stood down at the last election.

Many of them may be indicted in future. The law like this wouldn't be able to prosecute every single one of them - due to the costs.

So what they do is go after the easier targets and those they can secure convictions of.

These then become DETERRENTS to future corruption since they are an example of what can happen!

Thats how the law works. Through deterrence of future offending.

MPs/Peers in future know that if they do anything like that again in future they'll be RUINED potentially and face jail time.

your joking? you honestly believe that? this is a group of people, so stupid, they made their own rules up, to suit them selves. and couldn't manage to abide by them. and they expect us to believe them when they say " honest, we wont make that mistake again"
its not even the most worrying thing, thats whats going on in the euro parliment, the scope for corruption there is immense, and the chances of being caught are negligible.

There's no point debating anything with you.

Better get writing to the club board again. Although this time you better put some Capitals letters and . , in .

Cameron was taking the piss over his mortgae when opposition leader wasn't he? I hope they have a cell lined up for that gormless tvvat.

Yes, this this this.

Cigars, boss rum, immense chicas and all sorts of other ace stuff.

Been to Havana a few times Chico, and totally agree with all the above,, but when it comes corruption,, i think our lot are in the ha,penny place compared to the Cuban govt..... Have you ever noticed visits to business,s and hotels along the Prada by the military, the people just cant seem to get a leg up, which is a shame, their boss they are..... PS best health care system in world tho!

its a question of trust, do you trust politicians to police themselves, or not? i don't . corruption is becoming rife everywhere. football, politics even the olympics ffs. and the less accountable the person (FIFA,EUFA,EEC etc) the less chance of actually finding the truth. no wonder people become apethetic over voting. they have only themselves to blame.
