Speaking at tonights Shareholders' Forum, Everton manager David Moyes ruled out the prospect of any players which he regards to be 'first team players' arriving at Goodison Park.

David Moyes: "We will be bringing in people and maybe not people who I would think are first team players; maybe squad players, bosmans to build-up the squad to cope with things like that (Europe)."

Moyes also reiterated that no player will be sold, following heavy media speculation linking Joleon Lescott with a move to Manchester City.

"I said it to the press, that no players will be sold at Everton. I don't feel I need to say anymore than that. If anyone does go it will be at my discretion and I said at the start of the summer that I don't want anyone to go."

"Moyes Rules Out Big Signings"

Danny,

I think you'll find you've misquoted Moyes.

He only said he'd be looking to bring in Bosmans to bulk up the squad with reference to Europe, as it put higher demands on the squad. So he would need some players that wouldnt automatically be first teamers to take the pressures off the first team...

But that he was "looking to bring in talented youngsters to improve the club at all levels".

So I wouldn't say we'd be signing anyone ridiculously like Manchester City are, but systematically improving the players around the first team with < 23 year old players coming in (Naughton, Defour, Moutinho etc).

Whilst also bringing in young prospects like Mustafi, Garbutt etc.

That was what he was refering to.

So you ruling out "big" signings - is quite wrong. We just wont be spending £30m on single players or doing things stupidly!
