LOVE GOT JUST THE WAY IT IS #ALWNV
As we are currently in the middle of tearing ourselves apart internally, so to speak.

People are gnashing their teeth at some of Martinez's excuses.

Lets go back a couple of years and look at some gems from Moyes.

Post any more you can think of.

"We can't argue against the fact Wigan were the better side," said Moyes.

"We were not good enough. We haven't had too many of these days this season, or since before January last year, but this was one of them.

"It was one of those days when it didn't go well at all. We just didn't perform and never gave ourselves any opportunity."

"I had to make a decision and we're all in it together," said Moyes. "I thought we needed to try something. When you lose one goal you can try to calm things down but when you lose three it makes things so difficult.

"But this is a team here and we work together as a team. I don't point the finger at anybody. I might do it in the dressing room but I never do it publicly."

Pretty honest statement that, not that bad.

Another one. Injuries are no excuse. Yet clearly he's blaming injuries as highlighted.

Losing Arteta is no excuse to lose, says Everton's David Moyes
Injuries continue to dominate Everton manager David Moyes' team selection but he will not allow the players to hide behind the problems.

"Yakubu and James Vaughan went out and we have gone on and not made any excuses. We will do the same for Mikel," said Moyes. "We know he is influential for us but we will try not to talk too much about the injured players."

"One of our biggest problems was we started the season with a lot of people out and then we got into a period where we lost Yakubu and Vaughan. That is the way it is in life and any job; people move aside and you take the opportunity.'

If only he'd used the word phenomenal.........

I was more than happy to see the back of Moyes but I retain some respect for what he did for us in the early part of his tenure.

What is the point of this thread? Plenty of sticks to beat Moyes with but he was generally realistic in his assessment of our performances.

Go back to boring us all to death over FFP. It's what you were made for.

Moyes wasn't trying to spin bottom half finishes as some sort of extraordinary achievement though was he
