Moyes' Budget!

I said a couple of weeks ago I dont expect any net spend at all. Just like in the last few transfer windows.

You said a couple of weeks ago if net spend was £4 million you would tuck into a steaming bowl of your own turd, with relish. That is where the entire distinction dance we have grooved out has got to the point where we are.

It's unlikely we'll have a net spend. the £5m is also from player sales. If Moyes sees that cash plus all outgoing funds then he has room to maneuvre and has always improved the squad when he's had limited money to spend. I'd love us to have £15m but Moyes has always spent wisely when he's had to, it's the big money buys where he's made his mistakes for me (and the young keepers he keeps buying, although inexpensively)

Hasn't lost on Fellaini.
Didn't lose on Johnson.
Will lose on Yak and Bily.
Surely though his buy cheap sell dear puts him ahead by a distance.

Agree on Fellaini and yes we did make money on AJ, but he was never worth the £8.6 we paid in the 1st place. We struck lucky as proven by the fact he's been doing sod all since he went to Fulham.

On Fellaini though, he is a great player but not sure we'll make money on him unless he signs a new deal, isn't he in his last year next summer?

For me, if this window we lose Yobo, Vaughan, Yak, and maybe one other (say Jonny or Bily) and gain a Zog and one other attacker / winger who would be considered a 1st XI player, and maybe a sneaky loan or two for cover, I'd be satisfied that with that net result we have enough to launch a challenge on the top 4. I honestly don't think we need more than that and I have faith that one or two of the good young'uns are ready to break through - Vellios looks the biz, as do Gueye, Barkley and Dier with more development and 1st team experience - if only DM gives them the chance. If this is the cloth he is cut, then I don't see he has any other choice.

Of course, that's a big 'if'....

I agree. We don't need major surgery. We just need to lose the dead wood and replace them with players who will offer genuine competition for the first team.

I expect a couple of signings , none of which get me excited 1 bit , and I expect a net spend of 0 , if it's a penny over I will hold my hands up but no I won't have too

If we bring in £15m, Moyes might get £10-12m to spend IMHO.
