Miralles was magic when he came on but my vote goes to Robles.

Play like that every week lad and Howard doesn't get back in the side.

Mirallas undid alot of great work when he didn't feed Naismith. Great individual but it is a team game. Robles typically has his best game and then misses a pen thus leaving him devastated. How typically Everton. :(

It was Robles' save from Downing that took it to sudden death penalties, Naismith's penalty was incredibad. Not seen the Robles pen replay, but for 4 great saves in the 120 he nudges out Mirallas by a distance.

Must say, I knew Mirallas was going to get subbed on, but to sub on Oviedo and Mirallas (two players that could easily have replaced the yellow carded mcgeady) at the same time, I thought RM was taking the pish!

Robles easily had his best performance for us by some distance, looking confident and competent with everything he did up until the penalties.

But I thought Stones just had the edge on him for MOTM, he obviously made a mistake in the first half trying to bring it out through 3 players but he matched Carroll all night in a physical battle while still looking classy with the ball at his feet. It's the first game we've really seen him go toe to toe with a big powerful forward who likes to dominate and he showed he's more than capable of handling it, he's a real diamond with a big future ahead of him.

"Robles was abysmal in the shootout" Really? He saved one didn't he? Not many keepers manage that. He was blinding all night. Give the lad some credit. We've been quick enough to smash him when He's had a mare. Mirallas was a game changer and was awesome. I used the word Magic for the assist and I stick with it. But Joel was there all night and kept us in it. Gottta give it to the young keeper.
