MOTD - 2 out of 3 ain't good...

They shouldve put Aldridge on it....give us all something to laugh (hysterically) at on a Saturday night. That apart, the panel component became too boring too long ago for me to watch with any regularity. None of us really need Shearer to tell us after a penalty miss "he'll be disappointed with that".

Ferdinand isn't too bad imo. He got better during the WC the longer it went on, he just seemed to relax into it a little bit more. He is a hugely experienced player, whose opinion you could respect compared to Robbie "I once played for Utd" Savage for example.
Phil Neville is ok too. [Poor language removed] voice like and should swerve commentary duties.

I think defenders generally make better pundits, especially during tactical breakdowns, which is why Sky is good as they have lots of time to do this. Defenders have to read the game better, whereas a lot of attackers games are built on unpredictability. Watch Shearer try to back up a point he makes. He almost always just says "Well, I disagree. I think he should be there instead" etc but has no reason for it.

Oh dear, the Kopites will be fuming that MOTD from Anfield only has one LFC supporter on it. I smell the whiff of a boycott and letters sent to the Monarch.

Ha and he doesnt even toe the party line that well. It'll be good not to be met with massive bias every week!

but phil neville......horrible. To be fair, a former everton captain, despite the fact we hate him, is definitely an improvement! Though I imagine with all the abuse he gets from blues on twitter (and the moyes stuff) he'll be as anti-everton as the liverpool lot

Irrespective of what Ferdinand has to say, is it too much for me to expect national TV presenters to actually be able to speak? I mean, its not Ferdinand's fault there's clearly something wrong with his face, but I tend to think one of the key factors of working on national TV is to be able to speak with good clarity and diction.

I thought Ferdinand was surprisingly good at the world cup, at least he seems to have an opinion (unlike Shearer). Neville will come in handy when I need something to help me to sleep.

I agree with this. I don't get the Ferdinand hate, he was quite insightful and gave a different point of view to the usual generic rubbish. He was occasionally inarticulate but he's still learning, they need someone who won't shy away from speaking the truth.

Friggin half face Ferdinand, really? My disdain grew lots for him during the world cup. Now I have to see even more of him.

Shearer, Savage, Ferdinand, Phil Neville and Danny Murphy.

That may be the worst quintet ever, and I've listened to Shostakovich.
