Mosquitos

They love me for some reason. Currently in Thailand and after the rainy season they’re everywhere. Been bitten about a dozen times and I get massive welts, like an allergic reaction. Anyone else suffer with this?

Same, wherever I am I'm their favourite meal whereas my wife never gets a single mozzie bite.

I think diet has something to do with it, I'm a meat eater and she's veggie but maybe it's genetic too, I should research really.

The plug-in things to keep them away never really seem to work too well in my experience, the rub on sprays and lotions are better, a net even better if you have the option as long as you don't go to bed with the things trapped inside it.

For the welts go get an antihistamine (if medically safe for you personally), will bring them down and reduce the itching. You can get the over the counter in Thailand and meds are pretty cheap. In Europe take a pack with you or you can end up charged a fortune.

Antihistamines, sometime topical steroids. I react the same. Skin so soft from Avon, doesn't work in studies, but empirically, it works for me- as long as it has citronella in it.

Just got home and after examining my numerous welts in the shower I’m concerned that at least one of the bites is infected. This one on my calf image000000.webpis abar two inches across and one inch up and down.

Looks like early onset blood poisoning pal, don’t panic and just go to a walk in for referral to probably Trop School Of Medicine. Take an overnight bag but they’ll sort it.
