MORRISSEY has paid tribute to his footballing namesake by performing concerts in front of an image of former Liverpool and Everton player Johnny Morrissey.
The Echo just can't help itself, can it?
Although he played for the RS, Johnny Morrissey is synonymous with Everton.
Yet they have to mention the RS before Everton.

I was there on Saturday night in Glasgow to see a superb concert by Morrissey. What a great gesture to put up 3 pictures of his namesake, the great Johnny Morrissey.
....and BBC gossip says 'former Liverpool and Everton great', I can assure you he made his name with the Blues. Still find it a bit odd that Morrissey is paying homage to the Everton man, delighted but wonder why/how he selected him from all the Morrisey's in history.
Don't forget alan harper dudeBill Shankly nearly resigned when we signed him when he was away on holiday, what a buy he was ten years service, and a delight to watch - we repeated the swoop when we got Kevin Sheedy 20 years later two bargain class signings from them that gave us silverware!
Former Liverpool and Everton great Kevin Sheedy.
Former Liverpool and Everton great Alan Harper.
Former Everton and Liverpool great Peter Beardsley.
Former Everton and Liverpool great Gary Ablett.
There are four players who played for both teams, Eggs.
One would always think of them as players with the latter named club first and foremost.
It is just silly writing it like that.
Personally I think that is the Echo compositor (or whatever they call thr person whom composes the typing in newspapers these days) showing his or her bias.
Or the bias of whoever wrote it......or the sub editor whom let it through.
But who are we kidding......Echo Towers is a hive of unreconstructed cultists......![]()
