Following on from our discussion of the Manchester City belters on the Ale House:

More reports are coming in of all sorts of goings on at club level last night:

Craig Bellamy probe: Manchester City striker at the centre of Everton spat | Mail Online

Sportsmail understands City striker Bellamy will be spoken to today by the club’s football administrator Brian Marwood about comments he is alleged to have made as he left the field. One story leaked to Sportsmail last night was that Bellamy may have made audible comments in support of David Moyes in the wake of the touchline bust-up between the Everton manager and City boss Roberto Mancini towards the end of the Barclays Premier League match.

But also:

"The development came as City last night found themselves in an escalating row with Everton over a directors’ box disagreement between Eastlands chief executive Garry Cook and a guest of the Merseyside club’s official party...

...It also emerged last night that a rivalry that intensified when City pursued and signed defender Joleon Lescott from Goodison Park in the summer spilled over in the directors’ box.

It is understood that Cook reacted angrily when he believed millionaire property director George Downing — a guest of an Everton director — was joining in with chants coming from the away end at the final whistle.

With Everton fans singing: ‘2-0 and we’ve spent **** all’, Cook turned round and told Downing to shut up. City allege that Downing’s language then became increasingly offensive while Everton claim that it was Cook who was on his feet spouting obscenities."

cash v CLASS last night - and CLASS won again!

I reckon Robert Elstone could take that Cook fella lids.

so is bellend after a move back down the east lancs ?

i had to laugh at the way mancini went storming over then did the classic italian offensive movement of retreating twice as fast, then when moyes went in his face he doid the classic italian "ay, ay , ay " he was shittin his armanis.

The players have already shown they dont like Mancini. Maybe this will be the last straw.

A team needs a hierarchy. Moyes is thoroughly in charge of team affairs and the players know that at ours. Plus Kenwright with a decent relationship with Moyes operate in tandem.

Cook and Mancini and the catch22 situation they have their plus the primadonas mean they don't really have a hierarchy.

The directors don't even lead by example.

They bully to get their own way.

Thats the difference. A well run club in Everton to an ill-disciplined rabble of competing factions in that lot.

Plus they have this expectation and superiority complex.

It was like the Moyes' 300 Spartans (Evertonians) v the Persian horde (of Mancunians) with their billions

* cue the entrance of Johnny Heitinga!

I wish to bum you.

Its funny during the match and the previous Man City match I said to myself that Bellamy has the look that he'd rather be playing for us.

George Downing.. (Liverpool's biggest Property Developer) Is he a mystery backer / buyer then?

Cos at least he was joining in with the fans.. proper good that! (y)

It would be a bit hypocrytical if he was, so I guess that song puts him out of the equation.
