I dont get this, its just a lump-sum payment to remain there? Why arent they forced to pay the equivalent of the tax the players would get taxed every year?

Cos that's the players tax so it's the players saving the money, is this sum the tax that they would themselves pay if in France maybe ?

They are paying the players exactly the same as if they had to pay tax on their earnings.

Apparently if the individual doesn't pay it the employer is liable according to French law.

This thing apparently lasts two years.

So they're paying 20million a season by the looks of it.

MAY be a significant reason why they want

Traore to us in loan

Reduces their payment!

Because Monaco is a principality (its basically a country) with its own Tax laws, its a haven for the filthy rich. To enable them to participate in the French league they must abide by there laws, the super tax recently introduced see's topp earners paying 75% tax. To continue to participate in the league I believe the players would need to abide by this, instead the club have taken the hit

Apparently the law was written so if the player doesn't pay it the club has to. By law.

If the didn't pay thats tax evasion.

It was upheld in the french courts.

The other clubs probably demanded they had to pay too or it would of been unfair on the rest of the league

Thats only fair; they'd have a really unfair advantage otherwise.

75% though hahaha, i'd be in favour of the British government doing that for these over paid pre-madonas

Its basically a levy of around 20% for two years.

The UK by comparison is 45%. But they were clamping down on 'holding' and 'management' companies who are owned by players for tax reasons e.g. to manage players affairs

Particularly ones outside UK not even paying 20% corporation tax!

Theyre the tax dodgers. (Thats what happened to Rangers FC)

You're mistaken.

The league wanted them to move their headquarters to the mainland and pay income tax indefinitely, not just for two years.

Yes. Because they weren't paying anything potentially at all in Monaco

Not just two years for these payments.

They've probably agreed to pay normal french tax indefinitely too.

They've paid this one off fee so that they can continue being members of the league. The only reason this issue was raised is because Monaco were promoted last season.

They're going to continue not paying any income tax to the French Government, this payment is simply to shut the LFP up.

Yeah. Think they've just agreed to pay annually what they would of extra under this. That other clubs are.

So the others can't claim they have massive tax advantage

The figures for traore do match nicely though!
