Do you know what horror film I like Friend?

'Let the right one in'

And by that I do not mean a dangerous multi of a previously banned user. The like from Donnie the king Danger has been noted, I presume he has been given the Canine Sign in the sky

Will be seeing you.

Hmm. Okay? I feel like I've walked into some kind of bizarre conspiracy that I know nothing about here.

But, on topic, Let The Right One In is boss. I prefer the book to either of the films though. I even went to see the play when it was on in the West End but that was terrible.

I thought the play was really good. But I did see that before either film, and haven't read the book...

The original Hallowe'en still stands out for me.

Simple plot and execution (pardon the pun!) with plenty of creepy moments and good old-fashioned scares.

The more sophisticated a horror movie tries to be, the further it moves from being effective.

Babadook was incredible, proper under-the-skin scary.

Definitely, it was pure suspense rather than stupid jump scares which do my head in in 98% of horror films nowadays. I think the first 3/4's of Insidious was the same though, albeit with a couple of jumps scattered in. Once they showed the monster in that film, the creepiness just went out of it. The scene when he's walking through the house towards the end though is the stuff of nightmares.
