Always been a big fan of classic horror films and found anything modern (within the past 15 or so years) to be far from scary, focussing more on cheap thrills.

This looks rather boss though... installs a feeling of dread.

its also a 101 on how to make a boss horror film trailer

Even though I regret it at night, I love a good horror.

It Follows was on film 4 the other night, started off great and gave off a chilling atmosphere, then it got a bit silly as they tried to stop it.

All over the hind legs of an Alsatian.

Wow. I feel like I can't follow that alsatian gag (respect) but, trying to steer this back on topic, there are some amazing horror films coming out at the moment. Maybe not all of them get a wide cinema release though. I particularly recommend Under The Shadow, an Iranian film that's on Netflix and DVD at the moment, if you like atmospheric scary stuff. Nina Forever is a really unusual (and very moving) take on the old "zombie girlfriend" trope. I loved The VVitch too, although I realise that one divides people.

Don't Breathe was fantastic too. More over-the-top/gore/tension than atmosphere but that's no bad thing...

Of the cinema releases, I've really enjoyed some of the more straightforward "lesser" titles from the last year - Ouija : Origin of Evil was great and I enjoyed The Forest (even if no one else seemed to), off the top of my head... Oculus is a few years old now but that blew me away, despite not being a 'big' film. And the first Sinister movie was a cut above the average ghost story for me too.

I thought it was a by-the-numbers horror. The last good horror I've seen was the Babadook, worth a watch if you haven't already seen it

You know what you're right, Incidious is rubbish.

I've got it mixed up with - Sinister.

Which is a stand out horror, although the British actress who plays Ethan Hawkes wife is miscast and weak.
