That's it in a nutshell. Who says you are meant to be impressed? I like what I like. I'm not having someone else tell me I'm supposed to be impressed by something (not you, critics I mean)

But great art impresses many. Like it or not personally, Moby Dick does something in the history of English literature. That guy named Shakespeare too. Some truly great art goes unnoticed, but most great art does exactly what @LinekersLegs describes.

Maybe it's just me, but I was not impressed with @Tubey's art. I'm more of a Van Gogh type...although Rothko has some brilliant stuff.

Senecio 1922. I am always open to be educated ans I do like it, sort of looks confused.

yeah always remember this one as it was on the front cover of an album by a band called molly half head. First one of his i saw circa 1992. I was gonna guess it was that one! This is one of my favourites

....I haven't got a clue but that's ok.
Not to me its not.
I don't get why people get so butthurt about this stuff, really.

If someone likes it then they like it. Art is totally subjective.

The paintings in the OP aren't my cup of tea, but it doesn't make me rage.

Got to say though, as the father of a two year old, they're not capable of using form and colour like that.
Irks me slightly that some of these jokers are making serious £££ from just sticking any old joke in a gallery and saying its art. Other than that,

That's great. At least this takes a degree to skilled execution. Still can't get my head around how a black rectangle can be considered art. I love many types of art but this confounds me.
