Well everybody, am lookin to get a new mobile phone but am totally lost as to which one i should purchase. If people have any recommendations i'd highly appreciate it! I want to continue using pre-pay as i find the concept of lengthy phone contracts and hefty bills utterly repugnant (soz to those who use bill, just my personal opinion like)! Don't worry about the network as I'm in Ireland so rates will probably vary anyway! All i care about is the phone's technical abilities!

I've had an old iphone for years now (3GS) and don't want to get the iphone 5 as it's too expensive. I'm currently considering getting a Samsung or HTC or even an iphone 4S if people think that's a good idea despite all the apple upgrades and all that. I am afraid to move away from apple after so many years tho. I get the whole appstore / itunes thing and have just never really been exposed to android.

I want a phone with a good camera and reliable internet capabilities (although i appreciate web access has more to do with the actual phone network you're with).

Massive gratitude goes out to any responders to this post! Thank you!!

Best camera is the iPhone 5s. As far as I'm aware or the Lumia 1020?

As for paying monthly I can only recommend giffgaff

£12 a month for unlimited data texts and 250 mins.

Alright mate!

There doesn't seem to be a huge degree of choice these days.

I recently got an iPhone 5, I quite like it but it doesn't do anything spectacular. I would be regretting paying so much for it if I hadn't got a good discount via my employers benefits scheme.

Everything seems to be very similar at the moment.

My advice would be to steer clear of devices that run the Windows Phone system, as they tend to run fewer popular apps and I personally don't like the layout. I have used one for work and my entire household and partner have them and none are satisfied.

I am sure that there are others that would dispute this and quite like them.

I've not had an Iphone (juat don't like Apple).
I found that the HTC phones are usually very well made, having said that, I'm using a Samsung Note at the moment, which is very good.

I had an HTC Desire Z for a couple of years - loved the fact that it had a proper keyboard. I don't think any of the major companies still have them in stock though.

I wish there was another alternative to the current trend of "iphone or an HTC/Samsung/Sony copycat". I want a keyboard :(
