Player Valuation: £15m
I've had a Samsung S7 for nearly 5 years on GiffGaff and it's been great. It's always done exactly what it's needed to do but in the last few days the charger port has gone faulty so it's time to upgrade.

As I'm on GiffGaff, I'll be buying a newer phone on Ebay or Facebook. I'm not looking for the very latest phone as I have a budget of £250. What I do want is more storage space so ideally 128Gb. I'm looking at the S9+ which is just a newer, bigger and faster version of my S7 but what else should I take a look at? It has to be Android so any suggestions of an iPhone will be hilarious but ignored.

TIA

Samsung s9+ can be had for £200 to £250, cracking phone.

S9+ is agreat phone.

Huawei are dreadful phones, never heard anyone have a good word to sa. The camera, which is their focus, under delivers and everything else is just substandard. Avoid at all costs.

yeah, can't go wrong with whatever the best Samsung is within your price range.

To me a phone is pretty much just a commodity item, so I don't have need to for anything fancy. I've had an S8 for the last year and it does far more than I ever use it for, so can't see myself needing to upgrade for yonks. If anything I think the curved screen edges are a bit annoying and would rather have just a flat screen.

Same.

I had an S7 Edge for a few weeks before my flat S7 but it looks like the edge feature is the way forward. I'll just disable the side menu and set up my new phone as identical to my existing phone as I can.

Yep. And kill Bixby. That thing is a PITA.

I always mean to get a new phone but never do. I've had a Sony Xperia for about five years.

Can you just take the card out of your old one and stick it in the new one or do you have to jump through several tedious hoops?

Would you get a refurbished phone from Giffgaff, I'm with them aswell and got my S7 from them, you can pay something like 50, 80 and 100 pound of it then the rest on a 3/6/12/18 month plan

Think I put £100 down then 6 months at £10 a month, something like that anyway

I was going to say the same. My Pro and Air have both lasted years and very rarely lose capability (speed etc.), and my iPhones have been very reliable.
Same. I'm on my second iPhone and they're the only phones I've had for over a year without slowing down. I've got an 8 at the moment and will probably upgrade to the new SE when my contract is up in September.
