Don't know where else to put this, but it's an interesting (and sad) description of Rube Waddell, a pitcher who played for a number of MLB teams at the turn of the previous century.

An inductee of the Baseball Hall of Fame, too.

I believe he spent his final days at Southton Sanitorium just outside of San Antonio. That building is abandoned but still exists and is a place where fools go on ghost tours.

Baez was just messin around at first. I don't think he actually thought that would work, and I don't think he even knew he had to get to first for that run to count until the run scored. And he was about 5 feet off the base line when the run scored as well.

It wasn't clever, or magic base running. It was the dumbest defensive play in the history of the game.

Shoutout to the Toffee working the MiLB Amarillo Sod Poodles game tonight. That’s maybe the best name/hat in MiLB, which is no small feat. Always fun to walk into a baseball game, especially on $2 admission Tuesdays.

This line reminded me of Ruben Rivera turning in “the worst baserunning in the history of the game.” Feast your eyes on this mess.

Rivera came into this game as a pinch runner if you can believe that! This was the last time he ever ran the bases. He made one more appearance the next day as a defensive sub in a 10-2 rout and was then released.

Can I just make a quick shout out to Jacob deGrom...

those who know, know.

The guy just is the most amazing Athlete to watch, even on the TV, pray to god I get to catch him when I visit in Aug/Sep

As a jays fan I feel I’m wasting my time watching this team. How management hasn’t fixed the pitching staff to match the lineup they have is indefensible. Unless the pitching is fixed we’ll be an 85-90 win club. Which is pointless to cheer for.

Boston looking well in control.

The Mariners made an incredibly improbable run and fell just short of the finish line. They are not very good but found ways of defying the odds to make the last game important.

It was similar to the Refuse to Lose 1995 team except that team was really talented.

20 year drought for playoff baseball sucks but this year felt like David vs Goliath every game. They had no business even being in the playoff mix, yet they were right there on the final game.

What a fun season. Good luck those that made it

If you want to know how much I enjoyed the end of last night's game, just imagine if that had happened to the RS.

Chris Taylor will find himself a free beer in Wrigleyville no matter what he does to our Cubs in the future. So much for the hot team theory.

Looks like an interesting finish is in store. For Cards and Cubs fans, pitchers and catchers report in February.
