MLB 2025

SLAVEN BILIC

The Moyes is Back in Town
With pitchers and catchers reporting to spring training next week, I thought I’d start a new thread. Last year we just carried on the 2023 one.

So what are your thoughts, who’s gonna take the prize, who’s the surprise package?

I honestly can’t see past the Dodgers again tbh.

For the Mets (and it pains me to say it), I don’t think they go as far in the postseason this year, the pitching depth is probably the weak spot. I mean Alsonso’s re-signed, but we need 19-23 Alonso. He was clutch in spots last year, but it was a down season in overall stats. And the big news was Soto joining. Wow.

With that, PLAY BALL!!!!

Wonder where Bregman goes… he’s still hanging out there.

I could see the Cubs having a very good season—I like what they did in the offseason and it seems like the Brewers may fall back to the pack a bit.

As for my Mets, trying to keep my expectations realistic but it’s quite a lineup, pen is better. Season will probably live or die based on Senga and some of the new SPs brought in. Should be a fun race in the NL East

But yeah, Dodgers have the best team on paper by some distance.

I'm feeling better about them than any point since the championship squad broke up. I hope you are correct.

Good luck to you and Mr and Mrs Met. We get the Mets and their fans. You do not choose, you are chosen.

Get in the playoffs and take your best shot. That's all you can do in this game these days.

Oh yes indeed. Lots of good vibes between Mets fans and Cubs fans.

Even though my mom is a die-hard Mets fan, her favorite player was Ryne Sandberg when I was a kid. I didn’t quite understand it, so I asked my dad about it. His terse response “She likes the way he looks in his pants” still cracks me up 😂

I’m hearing big things about the Twins being favourites for the AL Central and I just don’t see it. Ima paying this as a Twins fan too, KC and Detroit are miles ahead on paper and the field
Baseball’s a mad game though. Look at the Mets a few years back with the most expensive squad assembled in the history of the sport. Didn’t make the playoffs and finished .463. This was off the back of 101 wins and Showalter winning NL manager of the year. We had the players on paper and the field coming off that previous season.

Stranger things have happened.

Ahh the Twins seem to be the exception at least in the last 20 years mate. When they get the ownership sorted it might change but not yet. I’m considering not watching this year such is the dejection (I will 100% subscribe anyway)

Twins have really good player development. If only, they had support from ownership they could be a real powerhouse
They do now they’ve decided to develop pitchers! I’m still not sold on Baldelli and the front office do some boneheaded stuff but the hope a change in ownership from a cheap family with no interest in the game will fix that

What an off-season for Scott Boras.

Got a mega contract for Soto and screwed Alonso & Bregman.

And @SLAVEN BILIC, Mets win the NL East and lose to Dodgers in Pennant again.

Phillies very overrated, Braves weaker than previously.. although all 3 make the postseason.
