If it's on the menu, I find it hard to resist. It's a pity most pubs dismiss the traditional option with all the offal included and instead lob a chicken breast on, but still a mighty fine thing all the same. Long live the mixed grill.

Our local Harvester did a decent one, or used to anyhow. It's all down to the chef at the end of the day. Looked something along the lines of this:

My dad (rest his soul) and I used to get together for the FA Cup final every year and he'd make his version -- bacon, kidney, egg, tomato, bread (all fried). Huge pot of tea, the HP bottle at the ready. Was it ever good.
The inclusion of kidneys gives it 'elite' status.
