I've got some seriously big bollocks but even I don't think getting decking on them would look right, seems an odd suggestion to me.

Old enough to remember when this was 'duck-apple night' in Liverpool.

My Ma didn't even heat the water up in the bowl first...straight from the tap - bloody freezing and gasping for breath then choking on a threepenny bit or tanner (olden days coins for the U40s) in the apples. Fun, hey ?...though we thought it was to be honest. Theyd call social services now. Squeaking chestnuts on a shovel on the big coal fire in ours - happy days....and with the fireguard "off" too !

All Souls Day is actually tomorrow 2nd November but you're right that All Souls is for respecting the deceased and "the souls in purgatory".

In the past it was a kind of 3 day religious 'event' - all hallows eve, all hallows day and then all saints day.

Now it's 3 weeks of selling tat.

Was in maccies last night and saw some girls and lads egging the place then going in and throwing the sauces and salt about.

Staff asking them to stop and leave, but they just laugh.

Thought it was just down to bad parenting to be honest. Wanted to belt them.
