Wimbledon?!

I have no time for them.

Regardless of what happens, the league is littered with dross London area clubs like Barney, Charlton, Gillingham, Brentford... fans who can't be bothered (to travel at least). Wimbledon was the pinnacle of this.

They played awful footballl, contributed NOTHING, and were just an abomination on football.

Whilst naturally I'd be hurting if this happened to us, it didn't.

Wimbledon are now back, and making progress to get back to where they are! Delighted for them, and their hard working fans. But it's stopped Wimbledon getting back the near the top flight for 20 years, which for me is good, an unpopular choice perhaps, but I'm glad.

ay up matey long time no see, hope all's well

i get where you're coming from, tho' i love the romance of Dave Bassett's tiny little club making it through all 4 divisions before winning the cup against the most unpopular club in the land...it's just a lovely story. And to be fair Wise, Vinnie and Fash were memorable figures, as was Sam Hamaan kissing Dean Holdsworth's arse for making 15 goals in a season and generally the Crazy Gang antics...all added a little colour to the game, even if they only managed a few thousand spectators per home fixture. As you say nowadays we're got so many identikit boring clubs, and not just in London.
