I

I get that there is more to the man than being "a convicted rapist". It's a pity he didn't show this when confronted by an interviewer. Had he shown one shred of self loathing he would have not come out of the interview so badly. What he did was resorted to school yard name calling, that's a shame as it showed him up as a bully.
Not a huge tyson fan myself, but you could argue that part is up for debate

He is human mate after all.

He has rightfully had years of abuse and has deserved it yes; but as a human, don't you get to the point where you think, enough is enough. Everywhere he goes he gets reminded of it, over and over again. Right or wrong that is bound to get to you from time to time.

Bully ? interesting you should mention that word. You could argue that the interviewer antagonized him; thats a bully no ?

Just seeing this from the other side too. Not defending him at all.

Watching that the footage it seems to me the presenter puts a legitimate question to him .

I take your point but tyson is a convicted rapist he has to expect that when he gives his support to a political figure, which seems to have happened in the clip, that his criminal record is up for debate . Tyson can't hope to have his boxing career celebrated but his criminal career ignored surely ? That'd be like interviewing Hitler about the trains running on time but not mentioning the holocust cause it's been done to death .

As regards boxing Tyson in my opinion was a top class fighter , I think he's probably a fighter that's maybe not as good as 'non-boxing' enthusiasts rate him but a very decent fighter non the less .
But is in the class of mayweather ,Ali, greb , Pep, Duran or Robinson ? Robinson in my opinion the most underrated of them all and in my opinion probably the greatest of all time.

I havent read his book or followed the man to any great degree. Based on what was showcased as a fighter he was a man who felt invincible, had everything a man could want, talent, fitness, fame, fortune and a nasty streak. Nobody - man, woman or child could do better than him. Sometimes though people cannot seperate their 'job' from their day to day life. If you are the baddest man on the planet then who could stop you when you have the arrogance to match ? The police wont touch him if they are paid off with his vast fortune. A man of the street wont confront him if he has any sense. In tysons case a woman (maybe multiple if claims are true) simply isnt strong enough to fend off the world heavyweight champion. Couple the above with a load of cling on's promotors, 'friends', agents etc telling you what you want to hear then its no wonder the man was a few sarnies short of a picnic. Some people choose to ride the rollercoaster and then live with the results at the end of their life.
Just because a man has a set of ears it doesnt mean he wants to listen.

Apologies for the long essay, just find the man to be interesting from what i have heard/read/seen on tv.

I'm not sure he has had years of this being reminded of it. Most interviewers tend to avoid the subject. That's what he is used to. I don't think the way the interviewer asked the question could be interpreted as bullying. I accept he should not be defined by this act alone and neither should he be allowed to pretend he hadn't committed this crime.

Also for those who would like to believe he wa innocent, one would have to ask if that was the case why his undoubtedly top class defence attourneys could not get a 'not guilty' verdict. When the like of OJ Simpson was able to get away with murder.

He's defo the casual fans poster boy, though some very knowledgeable guys have him high up in the ATG lists, too many unknowns for me in terms of how his career went, or rather could have gone

Yeah totally agree , don't get me wrong he was a really good fighter I'm just not sure he's a true 'great' , in the sense that some of those I consider some of those I mentioned earlier .
