I actually struggle to remember any other game that he played in. He only played in 11 games and scored 3 goals - 2 at Wembley. I wonder who the other goal was against? When all is said and done his Cup final exploits will always live on.

Leeds - a few games before, our kid says (His first away game, we lost 4-1 :( )

I stumbled across this the other day funnily enough whilst browsing Everton-related Youtube videos. I'm sure many have seen this but for those that havent here's the link to the highlights of the 1966 final:

Trebilcock came from Cornwall, where there is a saying By Tre Pol and Pen / Shall ye know all Cornishmen.

Tre
in the Cornish language means a settlement or homestead; Pol, a pond, lake or well; and Pen (also Welsh and Cumbric), a hill or headland.

Cornish surnames and place names are generally pronounced with the emphasis on the second syllable. So it's Tre-BILL-co.
Yeah, although the 'cock' is silent. Younger posters might not know that.

His brother in law owns "Bradburys" furniture store on Stanley Rd in Bootle near Bedford rd. Seen him at the game a few years ago with some little fella who turned out to be Mike Trebilcock, only realised when they disappeared before half time then Mike appeared on the pitch to a standing ovation 10 minutes later. He's been a few times and after the game they've ended up in the Jawbone in Bootle were mike was happy to chat with anyone. He actually said he pronounces his name "Treble-cock" the reason it was pronounced "Trebilco" was that the BBC in 1966 would never have stood for "cock" to be mentioned, hell they didn't even use regional accents in them days.

I seen him play away at Wolves the season after the cup final had a very good game we won easy too!

That's hilarious. I was actually going to make a joke about the BBC not allowing 'cock' to be used, but I had no idea that was actually the case. :)
