I'm sure a few of you might be buying expensive gifts at this time of year, and I thought I would share a little inside knowledge, and hopefully save you some money.
My daughter wanted an Apple Ipod Touch mp3 player for Christmas.
I'd already gotten most of her presents in, so when she sprung this on me, it was like 'yikes', as they are a pretty penny.

The cheapest I've seen them ( from a safe and reputable supplier with a 1 year warranty , i.e NOT Ebay ) was about £149, such as currys etc.
What I found:
www.very.co.uk is an online catalogue shop similar to that of Littlewoods etc.
I'm always looking at discount codes on the net, and found a few for this company.
Example: very.co.uk price £149
Now then. This is what you do.
You set up an account with very.co.uk , just as you would with a normal catalogue.
At this stage, all you are doing is giving name, address, email, and type of house etc. No bank details are asked for, and you simply make an account with password.
They'll give you an instant credit limit of £600, but let's forget about that, as we're only looking at making a card payment for now.
Obviously read the terms and conditions, which only apply if you need credit really, otherwise we're simply ' buying ' a product here.
So now you have an account.
You select your Ipod, add it to basket, and go to check out.
Now here's the good bit:
By default, you will notice a voucher code at the bottom of your screen as you are first setting your account up, that gives a 'new buyer' 10% discount on their 'first purchase' , so you would normally write it down, and enter it into the code box upon checking out, and get the said 10% knocked off.
We're going to go one better than that.
Voucher code ZGOO3 gets us £30 off our first purchase.
Voucher code XX728 gets us FREE DELIVERY ( yes, enter both )
In this case, it saves me another £3.95
Original price £152.95 ( still cheaper than Argos )
Final price £119.00
Obviously you only get the £30 discount on your first purchase, but who said I was ever going to make a second?
So there you go.
