Good servant but if we get Carvalho in I think Barry will be put out to pasture (or MLS).

McCarthy needs to prove himself again.

One of Gibson or Cleverley could be sold and I could see maybe Dowell going out for experience on loan and also McGeady being sent out on loan if we can't sell him.

How would you streamline it?

McCarthy gone, Idrissa in: similar players but makes sense financially. Barry less important role with one eye on coaching.

Cleverley and/or Gibson gone: don't need either anymore depending on the formation we intend to play.

McGeady gone, maybe bring a 4th winger in if deemed necessary.

Personally would keep mccarthy....looks good when playing alone in DM.

He does, at times, but Idrissa does the exact same thing and I'd bet is on a lower wage. May as well sell McCarthy for £15-20m and bring in like-for-like for £7m. Helps us out with STCC.

It would be very good. Huge shot of quality in witsel and mata. Cavaliho can do what he does best and if Gueye is true then a back up who can cover a lot of ground. Gives besic plenty of competition and the youngsters can go out on loan to get valuable competitive experience.

Means we bin Barry off, get a nice fee for Mccarthy and Gibson can rot in the reserve still.

And the passing quality would shoot up massively in that situation , which would be fantastic for a striker who can score 25 in a terrible team as it currently stands.
