Similar thing happened a few years ago when Makelele got called up after he retired.

Mourinho had a moan saying they were treating him like a slave but Makelele just turned up and got on with it.

How come it's fine for all these other people to retire, but a soon as a Frenchman does it he has to step in?

O K so it's a rule but only a plank would mention it or enforce it.

What a crap rule, tho'. International football is a privilege, but it shouldn't be compulsory. Marketing money again deciding how the game should be run.
