Michael Owen . .

You have to respect Michael Owen's record, as a striker in the premier league, and even when he played at Madrid, and again to some extent when he plays at United, but the problem with him is, seemingly, there is another injury just around the corner for him.
For that reason alone, never mind all the so called baggage that may come with him, we can't afford to get him, even on a freebie.
I would hesitate massively going to buy Michael Owen, is just to big a risk to take in my opinion, besides we couldn't afford to pay his wages, if current 'rumours' would have you believe.

A flat no from me, i would rather have Tony Cottee come back...at least he played...and scored a few too, without getting injured too much!

Just saying like...

good post i agree

Why do we even contemplate crocked players? It's one thing that I just cannot fathom. What sort of message do we send about ambition if we aim for players of doubtful fitness & pray each week that they come through unscathed?

Id love him at Everton. I know Moyes admires him and why shouldnt he? Watching him score last night you can still see he has what it takes to play at the highest level, he is a great striker.
If he was at Everton now he would be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Our team doesn't play in a way that suits him, though.

Now he's a great talent and if he was on the same wages as someone like Vellios, fine. But when he's going to be on ten times that and yet is more injury prone, is older and is less suited to the way we play football, then I'd rather play the kids who we already have (Gueye etc), they're not anywhere near as good but we're already paying their wages and at least their best is still ahead of them.

Totally agree.
