2025/26 Michael Vincent Keane

What really is an unnatural position ?

It is a stupid nonsensical way of looking at something from a group of people that have never played a game of football.

Moving your arm towards a ball, yes. Being off balance, legs in the air. Your arms NATURALLY swing.

go and run in your garden and quickly turn around and see what happens to your arms..

The letter of the law, that could be given. The individuals that created that law, need to be removed for lack of common sense..
Then you get people looking at a still image and saying 'what are his arms doing there?' because they're removing all context. His arms have to go somewhere lads, he can't turn his body without his arms moving in some sort of direction, if someone doesn't kick the ball at him from 2 yards away that doesn't register with you at all so why pretend that it would? Really bizarre behaviour from some people who just can't seem to accept that a player they don't like is doing alright for a bit.

You don't get it mate.
Me being right about Keane is far important than Everton doing well.
After the hate I've invested in him, he's making me look bad.
He's had a solid start to the season, but it won't last.
Wish he'd hurry up and cost us a few goals/games 👍

Made some big last ditch tackles and clearing headers yesterday but was at fault for the goal when he walked past the ball in our own box where he could have cleared it. Not sure how he ended up in the right back position in the first place.

Last ditch tackles and clearances from his own six yard box is his speciality, but that's because he doesn't have the pace, mobility or positioning to defend higher up the pitch. Prevention better than the cure and all that.

Been our best defender this year but that says more about the woeful performances of the broader back four than it does how well he is playing. Still don't want him in our starting XI, sorry

Anyone got any stats of goals conceded per game with and without Michael Keane in the last 3 years?

Edit: 1.1 without to 1.7 with. Not as high as I was expecting but that's an extra, what, 2 goals conceded every 3 games?

He's the prime example of marmite Everton players over the last decade that will never, ever get right in the eyes of certain people no matter how well he does.

Said it a couple weeks ago and im just gonna go ahead and say it again - we'd be completely goosed currently had we not handed him that new deal in the summer..

This argument is such a dud one to make because if we hadn't have given him a new contract we'd have signed a centre half to replace him. So who knows whether we'd be goosed or not. Maybe, probably considerably less goosed

Hahaha I said do you think he played well last night and you said no.

That would suggest otherwise. As would my eyes.

Yes hes been woeful for us really and he’s not a long term solution - is he playing well this year? Also yes.

You said “do you think he’s playing well currently?” And I answered no, because I don’t think he is.

When we start looking like a solid and competent defensive unit, I’ll start to praise the defensive unit.
