Going down to Liverpool this weekend but wanting to go for a walk or two whilst there for something to do. Are there any nice walks around the city or not too far away to drive to? Whenever I Google it just sends me into North Wales.

The Leeds Liverpool canal is a great walk to do.

Me and my pal head on around aintree and just walk for hours with some cans and spliffs.

Walking on the dock up towards otterspool is a decent one.

Sefton Park too.

Hit the dunes on formby, and go around Crosby as well.

What Charro says plus I would add Croxteth Country Park to that list. Its only five miles or so from the city centre. From the West Derby gate there is the entrance/driveway to Croxteth Hall, which is about a mile, then the Hall itself and its grounds and to the back of the Hall the old nature reserve and woodland. You can also go into the Hall (small fee) as large parts have been preserved as a museum. Its farm is run as a visitor attraction as is the Walled Gardens.

It is an island of the countryside within the city.

Delamere Forest would be my pick mate.

Park your car at the visitor centre and then just head out.

Loads of very nice country pubs around there to eat too.

Wirral Way worth a shout too.

There's a load of old school hard core mags in the woods in Eastham.A great view of the Mersey you can have a proper tug with a view.Oh..............I think I misread the title of this thread..

Head down towards Crosby, will take about 15/20 minutes from the City Centre. It’s very nice. Here’s the postcode for satnav.

32 Hall Rd W, Liverpool L23 8SY
This is the coast guard station. Car park charges but cheap, you’ll need coins or card
Can park at Crosby baths for free.

Depending on how far you want to walk you can get to Formby as there is a path that runs next to the train track from Hightown.

Also, if you park by Freshfield Station, you can walk next to the track, cross at the crossing by the golf course and through the woods to the coastal road into Southport.

I've been cycling from Waterloo up along this route all through lockdown. Kept me sane and shifted a bit of weight.
