at the milk cup final, the crowd swayed and i ended up stood next to a mate and his arl fella (both r/s).
at the replay, the crowd swayed and i ended up stood next to them again.

taking over a whole side of 'their end' every year was always enjoyable

The 3-2 win in the FA Cup semi final 1977, Maine Road. I don't give a [Poor language removed] what the history books say, we won that game fair and square.

Dead frinking right!! I was at both games - including the one we 'won'.

Is Thomas still alive?

I believe he is, he may well be immortal for all we know.

I can barely remember it, but have seen it in archives, Bryan Hamilton scores a legitimate goal and for some reason the stick chalks it off.

wasn't there an incident at the World Cup the year after when he blew the whistle as player scored from a corner, and it didn't stand or something.

Poor Thomas is forever castigated by our supporters because of that '77 incident, if it wasn't for that, he could probably sleep easy at night.

I'm 95 per cent sure the last time we did the double over them in the league was 84/85, probably right.

actually we beat them 3 times that season, if you include the Charity Shield.

Have to mention 86 when Lineker scored in front of the Kop , and Ratcliffe with a rare one, although it was to count for little in the long run.

1991 the Replay, Dave Watson, excellent night and morning after that epic eight goal fest.

1995 Kanchelskis derby, big nose thought he had scored first, it was ruled out, enjoy watching that.

1997 Cadamarteri and Ruddock own goal, john Oster was promising, but never made it big, Kendall was manager for a 3rd time and almost got us relegated.

one bad memory was the 0-5 at home, Rush got three or four that day, and unsurprisingly the RS went on to win the title.

can't pick a favorite, 78 was good, but I'll go for Sharp, just the way it went down, and some silly supporters invading the pitch in questionable attire.

You'd think it'd be the wins I remember but no...it's the cruel matches. I've brought it up a couple times in the past but that damn McAllister freekick that Gerrard ((n)) should've stopped in his sleep still haunts my daily life.

I'll need a witch doctor to get that out of my head...it keeps playing over and over in an endless loop. :@

Certainly was. Brazil were the team. Not sure it wasn't Zico who had the goal disallowed

The McAllister freekick was a body blow at the end of an exciting seesaw match. But for sheer wierdness it can't beat the goal that Graham Poll disallowed when the scores were level and with the last kick of the game Westerveld kicked the ball out into the back of Don Hutchison and it rebounded into the back of the net. Now that was cruel.
