By cancelling trains that won’t be on time the night before. It’s a stupid metric thats used by every train company
The most punctual based on a consistent methodology shared across the industry then? Gets better.

Their punctuality is obv down to geography in the main- the network is almost completely self-contained, no complicated exchanges with others. But they still run it on time.

Yeah it’s just when there’s figures like 96% punctuality thrown about, when it’s actually 96% based on what was run, not what was supposed to- so today for example none of those cancellations count against punctuality because they’d been cancelled before 11pm the night before. Nothing more frustrating than going to get an early train that’s been cut!
