mental fatigue in football

Listen.

There's plenty of photos of them enjoying themselves on holiday in the summer.

My heart is bleeding here.

I know for a fact they don't work all day. They have 'sessions', Its not mentally taxing like people in the real world economy are facing right now. Or ordinary joe is - working in a factory.

So frankly he's talking drivel.

We should stop wrapping people in cotton wool. Making excuses for failure.

Pretty much this with more vitriol and feeling

I was trying to tone it down to avoid unnecessary moderator intervention and paperwork there.

I'm glad you could tell mate. ;)

They're so wrapped in cotton wool I surprised some of these footballers don't burst into tears when they get a splinter in their fingers. Honestly.

Anyone would think that they were like 3 year old children. I blame the managers and society :coffee:

This cradle to the grave enter the Academy at 10 or whenever, stifles the need to think and question, which leads to a lack of leadership and thus when it isn't working on the field the go to reaction is 'Duh' and do what they've been told is good,
if in doubt get the pass stats up, hence the sideways stuff.

I know it's not that simple, but it might be for all the 'benefits' from the Academy there are not so obvious drawbacks...and lack of real world experience might be one.

I imagine it is quite tough mentally to be 19 years old, for example, and have millions of people worldwide analysing everything you do every week.

Do they have the stress of not being able to pay bills? Of course not. But money doesn't buy happiness and they're under ridiculous amounts of pressure and scrutiny from a very young age. That's got to be taxing.
