Memory is a funny thing. I can remember very specific events from my childhood that weren't particularly life altering, just specific recall of details about a moment or a day. Whereas there are times I can't remember what someone told me 2 days ago sometimes.
One of mine is everytime the summer rolls around, I recall a Monday night in 1976 when I was about 7 out in the yard trying to catch fireflies in a glass jar with my sister. I remember the day because Mark "The Bird" Fidrych was pitching on Monday Night Baseball that night during his legendary rookie season (that will mean nothing to my English friends - but it's an "anchor" for that memory). There's not particular reason to remember that night, I just do.
Anyone have that too?
