During the Moyes era I was watching Everton smashing Hull City 5-1 from high up in the casual viewers' stand (Goodison Top Balcony), and Landon Donovan (which is a name straight out of Planet of the Apes, the original version) put in this beautiful cross from around the near corner, and the fans started chanting "USA You Must Stay" and I had this weird romantic thing about this girl in America I know and my eyes drifted over to the right and the setting sun was sparkling in the water in Stanley Park, hypnotic, the chant became like unto a dream, and this poetic sense of oneness and romanticism imbued the whole atmosphere, and , uh...

I attended a compulsory meditation session as part of my training to be a teacher 30 odd years ago. We were told it was good to cope with stress. Gives a great sense of perspective.

Have to say it was interesting, and gas been useful, since, over the years. Especially at times of stress and misery, eg Saturday / Sunday afternoons.
