"Mediocrity is a disease at Everton… fans aren’t allowed to think big" article on the GOT homepage

All this talk about getting shut of Bill, Elstone & Woods, How's that gonna happen? It's not is it. The best we can hope for is Moshiri getting control and making the correct decisions sooner rather than later but that won't be sacking half the board. The manager we hope is gone but who picks the replacement? Does Bill go for O'Neill, Howe, Moyes? Does Elstone carry on with contributing anything positive? We are obviously at a crucial point in our history if we don't get it right now and there's a good chance we won't we can kiss goodbye to any success in the future.

This mediocrity refuses to sack Martinez "oh dear me, it will cost us money and then how can we pay for the Captain's Fourballs?"
This mediocrity refuses to endorse a manager with strong opinions (Clough) or a record of winning... (see Walker, Lee, Bingham for example)...
This mediocrity failed, time after time, to find a new stadium..
This mediocrity failed to find a buyer for about a decade...

Six months ago it was a very different landscape.

Most of us thought a tweak here and a tweak there would have had us kicking on.

As the circumstances change so must one's reading of the situation.

Bascombe had done what many of us on here have done over the past six months.

Woken up.

Six months ago most of us were saying the exact same. The article is about 9 years too late

Nope, 10th was success for that fella
I wouldn't have been opposed to giving him a chance with proper money, back when he was going three years without a first team signing and still doing OK. I don't think too many would seriously want him here now, though.
