Does anyone else think the Hillsborough anniversary/case is in danger of becoming annoyance to the general public outside of Liverpool ?

The blanket media coverage it gets around this time every year exalt does no favours.

Coming from Liverpool in obviously sympathetic towards the whole thing but living in London and having lived elsewhere I can tell you that joe public with no association with the city of Liverpool are getting more ad more tired of the giant fuss that's made over it every year

"No other tragedy gets the same coverage" etc are the kind of things you hear.

I just worry that the media saturation of the whole event is going to make people have a negative reaction to it. No one likes having stuff rammed in their faces constantly.

When you read stuff like Carragher etc saying that every child in the country should be taught why happened that day you can't but think things are going a bit too far with it all.

The scale of the cover up is incredible

It's a credit to the families they've got this far in their search for justice. Give the aftermath it's much more than just a tragedy. It's a disgrace its taken a quarter of a century for them to get this point.

I honestly do not care what the rest of the country think as long as those families of the 96 finally get the truth

Spot on Chewee

The stories behind this make the tradgedy completely transcendent of sport. Children, in fact everybody in this country should be told about not just what happened on that day, but everything that has happened after it. The Tory government and the Sun newspaper, shouold never, ever be able to sweep this under the carpet. If it meant the people who caused this, and covered it up pay the price for it, then I couldn't care less if it was on the radio every day.
