So, here I am. While suitably humble as a newbie, I have noted a few things about posts in general.

It seems that players who have proven not good enough are often despised as 'stinking the place out', or bleeding the club dry. To me, if they've do their (possibly limited) best and continue to do so, then they deserve some respect.

Equally, fellow posters don't always deserve the extreme abuse directed at them. I appreciate this is a symptom of only exchanging text, whereas if you could see an actual person, their facial expressions and tone of voice you'd usually be more respectful, but it would be really nice if people could be nicer to other Evertonions. The world is full of people who aren't as privileged as we band of brothers (/sisters), so just let's bear that in mind.

Think blues were somehow written through me like Blackpool rock while in the womb. 55-60 years ago I remember staying up late on a Saturday till my dad got home from the pub with the football pink paper. Used to read about the blues' result and the various players I didn't know from Adam back then.

You make some good points re civility, but to be honest I love the vitreol dished out to certain players.

We have had so many 'non-performers' in recent years, that this has been inevitable.

Everton fans, to a degree, will accept skill limitations, if the said player gives 100%, sadly some can't even manage this.

Years of frustration, hopefully coming to an end.

I've found this approach has served me well in life, as I've not been overburdened with friends and have never had the problem of dealing with loads of Christmas cards or too many party invitations.
