George Boyd had agreed terms with Palace and passed a medical. Forest came in and offered £3k per week more. He went there and passed a medical and was then asked to take an eye test, (this a player who has scored from the half way line for Peterborough!) which he failed. Mcleish still wanted to sign him but the owners wouldn't let him. Boyd stranded in Nottingham at 9.00pm on deadline day with nowhere to go. Mcleish had been promised £3m to spend during the window but was allowed to bring in a couple of loanees only. Forest fans understandably fed up. Mcleish has (allegedly) threatened to walk. Peterborough have confirmed that Boyd will go on loan to "a bigger club" (can't be us then) as soon as the loan window opens in a week or so.
Meanwhile, Palace have taken 52 year old Kevin Philips on loan until the end of the season. Philip's medical consisted of checking whether he still had a pulse.
