From the out set I will make clear my opinions about the guy.

He first came to prominence as assistant to SAF at Utd, press thought he was the heir apparent. When he left SAF notably lampooned that suggestion, he laughed loudly when a journalist suggested that SM had gone to Boro for experience, I think SAF knew better.

When the Middlesboro job came up he dived at the chance to fill Robson's shoes with a similar lack of success. Despite having a chairman that backed him to the hilt the teams performances were only consistent by there mediocrity.

Whilst working at Boro he managed to inveigle his way into the assistant England coaches job working with the slippery Swede. Following a pathetic reign costing the FA millions in wages alone, SM emerges with his 'reputation sufficiently intact with the powers that be to be appointed Svens successor.

His last four games as England supremo have failed to produce a single victory or a display of any merit whatsoever.

This morning a journalist on Sky revealed that McClaren had sent hand written personalised Christmas cards to all leading football journalists hinting that it was some form of ingratiation.

During the January transfer window ex-Boro players have revealed their personal views on McClaren the man, none of them flattering in any way shape or form. His successor at Boro, Gareth Southgate who played for him at the same club, blamed him directly for the ills of the Boro team this season, he has yet to respond to that sting critique.

In my opinion McClaren epitomises the ineptitude of the FA who failed to grasp the fact that their selection as England manager was incompetent, is no more than a yes man and arse licker, although they might prefer the latter.

This guy is not fit to be the manager of England, that is a simple fact as he was never fit to be the manager of Boro. i hope the press hound out of the game of football because he is one of those yes sir, no sir, it wasn't me sir types that make me sick. How he never carried part of the blame for the world Cup fiasco is beyond me unless of course he lied.

McClaren should get the boot and an Aladyce type boss, prepared to kick arse no matter what a players reputation is, put in his place as soon as possible.

id rather him pick championship top performers, coz lets face it, cahill and lescott werent and definately arent bad at all

With only one qualifying for England you are only half right

back to the matter in hand though.
why do you think the England manager picks the shittest forwards from the [Poor language removed], always..
e.g heskey, crouch..
bribed? biased?

Simple, string of tossers, with this prick being the latest. When he picked AJ he then played him out of position, says it all really

true, why not start players like AJ and jermaine defoe in friendlies, see what they can do. they can always fall back on lanky [Poor language removed] for the qualifiers should they so wish to

I think Defoe is the most over rated player in the prem a part from the streak of [Poor language removed] k/a Crouch
