Should I? Need a new vehicle but not the monthly payment...someone convince me either way or I'm going to sit on the fence until I die.

Are you looking at getting a new one? Or one that is a few years old?

What I do know is that they need servicing a lot more often than average cars due to the fancy rotary engine.

More than likely used...someone locally selling a 2009 with 23k on it which is what got me interested in the first place. I've already taken the service side of it into account. Problem is it's black with black interior, which is brutal here in the summer. My truck is paid off, so it'll mainly be a "to work and back" transport to save on gas and something sportier when I feel like it.

There was actually an M3 for sale for about 4k more but it was 3 years older and had 40k more miles.

The RX-8 is a great drivers car. The fallacy about more maintenance required is from old rotary engines, the unit in the RX-8 is much more reliable.

That said, I would take a 3rd Gen RX-7 (twin turbo, 276hp jobbie) anyday over an RX-8. Just if you do, first thing is upgrade the radiator and cooling system. You will have less engine troubles if you do.
