Saw Mathew Kelly at the Playhouse in a play of John Steinbeck's book "Of Mice and Men ". He was brilliant in the part of Lennie, as was George Costigan who is a big Blue btw.

I saw that too. He was great. Although my friend I went with spent the rest of the evening in the Ship and Mitre saying "Ooh! Shut that barn door!" in a 'Mathew Kelly' voice.

100% agree, MK is a great guy and a much better actor than many imagine him to be.

I worked at the Everyman/Playhouse for many a year and he is up there as one of the nicest people I worked with. Lovely fella and a pleasure to share a pint with. As is your bro with whom I shared a few in the Bistro over the years

Were you there as long ago as the Beatles show, John, Paul, George, Ringo and Bert ?

Seen lots of stuff at bith those places due to getting free tickets off a girl I knew,though she worked on the admin side in accounts

Was there from early 90s and left about 18mths after Playhouse re-opened. Used to do all the set building etc. Lost count of the number of shows I worked. Got a box somewhere with a cast signed programme from every show I worked. Will dig it out and have a nose whats there

The Beatles show was 1974 - did you work on the original Blood Brothers ?
