yeah i had a feeling they had a poor record, i just always had it in my head they had a good one, so just went with gut instinct and laziness

Italy really missed De Rossi, they lacked a leader in midfield.

I am glad Italy have lost put. They were fouling too much hence their number of yellows was more that any other team add to that their blatant time wasting was a disgrace.

To me their plan was obvious get a goal and defend to the end, when that did not work they were happy to take a chance on penalties.

it was emotional...only now just coming down from it...got totally smashed last night...scenes...and a massive monkey off our back. there was a lovely comment elsewhere which perfectly summed it up:

you cant defeat italy, you have to survive them. thats what germany understood for the very first time.
