I never expected us to come through the group stages in the first place, so think we did quite well reaching the semi final. Van Gaal played utterly realistic football with the quality at hand.

Yesterday we played the fifth semi final in our history and reached three finals. Somehow I don't feel we're doing too bad for a small country like The Netherlands.

And far more entertaining football than the thuggish fare served up in 2010 - the Spain and Australia games in particular were very enjoyable.

Can we sign Wijnaldum? Seemed to be chomping at the bit to run at defences the times I watched him but kept his discipline well.

ooh, i'm not sure that crossed the line, but i guess there's some rule for the time it takes? keeper was stupid to let it do that though, i'd like to know whether OG's count? e,g, kick against the post and it comes back out (isn't going in) but bounces off keeper's back.

when that happens in a game, it goes down as a missed pen and an OG. i believe i saw it once in a pen shootout and it was given as a goal. suppose it'd be up for interpretation as to whether the ball was going off target?
