Everton got off to a bright start after 5 minutes through Vellios then a double from former Borussia Dortmund player Thomas Eisfeld made sure of the 3 points for the Gunners and was also denied a hat trick as he saw an effort come off the bar in the second half.

Another goal from Arsenal always looked to bein sight and it arrived and again the class of Wilshere was evident as he cut in from the right hand side to find the German Eisfeld once more who gave Mucha no chance.
Mucha made another fine save keeping out a stinger from Frimpong as Arsenal bossed the latter stages of the half.
Everton made one change at the break taking off Sam Kelly and slotting Browning in the right back berth moving Tony Hibbert to the left.
The second period was played at a fast pace with chances very rare. Johann Hammer recently been involved with his native Sweden went close for the blues only to see his effort miss the target marginally.
