Massive Attack @ Longitude

Saw them a few years ago and they had the same theme for their visuals, focussing on the US defence spending. It was really well incorporated into the whole live show. Great live act (but only their own shows, don't work so well at festivals).

I went over for it, and have seen them dozens of times (Blackheath Festival next month is next up for me).

They've been pumping this style of show for about 4 or 5 years now. Their live shows are an assault on the senses, and a million miles from the trip hop they rose to prominence with in the early/mid-90s.

Yay Massive Attack, Teardrop, wow, amazing etc. etc.

Now please share your story.

For you and @Jaytality. FFS fellas with a bit of research it can be found on this here website at least a half dozen times. It's late in here, so I can't go into massive detail, but here's the CliffsNotes Abridged version, but before going on Unfinished Sympathy is incredible...Teardrop wears it's pajamas.

So...why would a fella my age be a blue for so long? I'm 43...nearly 44 in a couple of months.

Well, it's very simple a lad named Simon is why I'm a Blue. You see I played footy at a young age from 12-15, and one of my teammates was this strange kid from England named Simon. He was really good at footy...ffs, miles better than us when we first met him. And he was a Liverpool fan. Massively obnoxious about it...like the kinda fella you would join or punch in the face. Well...at age 14 (end of 1984) I decided to be a Blue. Yes, I began an Everton supported simply to be contrary to an obnoxious British lad that I happened to be friends with.

So, basically, I became a Blue to be contrary to my British mate who was a red.

Crazy thing is that 30ish years later, one of my best mates happens to be a Kopite...nobody's perfect. Good lad from Stoke...

They did this at Sonar in Barcelona too, also did lots of messages about Catalan independence.

It was the only way they could get the crowd to respond as their whole set was so dull. Like listening to them but poor as a live act IMO.

So you support Everton on spite. Awesome.
