In what capacity was RM watching the Dutch team ? Was it as a television pundit or as manager of Everton.

If it was as a television pundit ,then it is a useful way to see top players training ,some of whom he may be interested in now or in the future.
If it was as Everton mamager, then we must have a real interest in one or more of their players.

Couldn't he do both?

Well, could he not just be a guest of Van Nistlerooy, who is Dutch, and good mates with the coach ??

As king in waiting mate. He's welcomed at Barca, comfy as f..k at the Dutch training camp I wouldn't be surprised if he's handing out the medals in the final. He's outgrown us already. :(

I doubt that anybody could just walk in to watch these training sessions. I would imagine that he would have to be approved by the Dutch FA or the Dutch management team.
I think that national team managers would be unlikely to want club managers near their player talking about transfers and taking their mind off the World Cup.
It may be that television programmes may have certain access rights to the teams.
We are told that RM has an interest in a couple of the Dutch players ,it would be interesting to know how/why he got approval to attend a session.

He's working for Espn a tv company, the media are allowed to watch certain segments of each teams training sessions .

They wouldn't let anyone with the purpose of scouting players in

Definitely a good move to do the tv slots then.

Most likely watching stefan de vrij and his defensive partner :)
