So much more positive. 4 signings already, Moyes would wait until 31st August and panic after selling Baines.
Signing players that suit his system and brought in some exciting players. Joel good for the future, should replace Howard. Alcaraz a decent backup who's better than Duffy and maybe Heitinga. Kone a striker which we need and he obviously has faith in him. Don't get me started on Deufoleu. He's class. Rapid, tricky winger, very different to Pienaar, gives us something different.

Moyes had his faults but his transfer record was certainly not one of them.

I have had Everton build my hopes up for years, only for them to crush my spirit and soul a few weeks later. I'm pessimistic by nature, let's wait till October.

But, Martinez deserves time and a chance with us, no doubt some people will fume about him if we start poorly.

matts the only "mistake" you made in that post was to criticise Moyes -
you have made no predictions of winning all or even most or even any games - all you said was that the positive way in which Martinez has gone about his job has inspired you to feel exited - certainly nothing wrong with that - I feel the same-
Mr Moyes on the other hand has made a grand total of a single 1 mil signing so far -
at least for once /for a while we are spending more money than Man United in the transfer market - hehehe

Exactly, not said we're gonna win or anything. Just saying it's a positive start. More positive than Moyes. Now the 4 new signings have time to settle in at Everton. Moyes signs a player on 31st August, seasons started and has to quickly blend into the squad. New signings have over a month until the first competitive game.
